Following Alan Levine’s lead for a Splash the Color, I used GIMP to create two images, one color and one grayscale, then added the grayscale as the top layer. As I began to erase that layer’s gemstone jewelry and lips to reveal the color, I was shocked by how bright the lipstick was, so I toned it down.
