Bernard Hermann: Vertigo Theme
Inspired by Alan Levine’s Bridge on the River Kwai and the original DS106 assignment, I started playing with something that I felt should be in motion anyway. And I had to add Bernard Herrman’s score even though it wasn’t in the assignment because it kept running through my head the whole time.
I spent too much time with Gimp, because I could only rotate the middle layer one layer at a time, since I don’t really know how to use the program, then whiten out the black circles that resulted.
This is amazing, hypnotizing, and disturbing all at once.
I love the audio combined with the animated gif, the gif seems to change speed with the audio.
Saul Bass, the poster designer, does amazing work. Great choice, and I love the way you’ve brought it to life.
