So I thought of a writing assignment for ds106 (and now I can put it in the new Writing category — woo hoo!):

Create a seven-character team in the tradition of Justice League, Murder by Death, or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and write a brief treatment for a potential movie or TV pilot.

Some examples:

MediVAC
Starring Doctors Jekyll, Jordan Cavanaugh, Leonard McCoy, Doc Holliday, Quincy M.E., John Watson, and Gregory House.
The medical teams runs a luxury hotel on a tropical island after they arrive for a retirement conference and the owner mysteriously dies.

Legacy Helpdesk
Second-in-commands (William Riker, Robin, Gilligan, Leo McGarry, Sgt Schultz, Samwise Gamgee, and Roger Murtaugh) staff a computer helpdesk for Microsoft.

WOOFCON 3
Military “dream team” (Rambo, Colonel Blake, Private Ryan, Rob Roy, Private Benjamin, Captain Queeg and Mr Roberts) organize a pet hotel in the wake of 9/11.

The Philosophers Stoned
Spock, Linus van Pelt, Chauncey Gardiner, John Keating, Yoda, Plato and the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are stranded after their airplane crashes into a marijuana farm in Humboldt County.

So I wrote a hyperlinked poem:

Sarah Bernhardt was an actress
who recorded once with Edison
P.T. Barnum did that too
providing the connection

Barnum published his memoirs
and Michael Jackson read them
Jackson worked with a guy
who calls himself Will.i.am

I can’t find a connection
between Will.i.am and Bacon
so though wikihop is fun
I think it is mistaken
