News

Hello friends, subscribers, and readers! Here’s my Grousable Books news for fall:

Long-listed

Delighted to report that Bummer at Luna Beach has been long-listed for the Murder & Mayhem Award at Chanticleer. If you haven’t read it, you get a discount if you buy from me directly (plus I can autograph it for you!).

Coming up

Write On Oceanside

I’ve been selected as an author participant for Write On Oceanside, a festival of authors coming Saturday, October 11. It will take place at the Oceanside Civic Center Library Plaza, Courtyard, and Community Rooms, located at 330 North Coast Highway. While my SoCal cozy, Bummer at Luna Beach, will be featured, I’ll have all my books there for sale.

Once Upon a Book Fair

Located for the first time at the big mall in Escondido, the book fair theme this year is Around the World in Eighty Days, very appropriate for my Victorian-set novels. I’ll be there sharing a table with historical mystery novelist Jolie Tunnell on Saturday, November 15 in the afternoon. In plenty of time for the holidays, my trilogy of Victorian mysteries will be on special price.

ARC Readers Needed

Interested in reading and reviewing my upcoming Victorian mystery, Murder at the Gasworks? I’m looking for some good people to join my Advance Reader Copy team. You’d get a free e-copy of the final draft of the e-book, fully edited and formatted, in November. After you’ve read it but before the release date (looking at January 5 at the moment), you could post a review on GoodReads (or BookBub or any bookish community to which you belong). Just contact me if you’re interested.

Book trailer

I’ve never done a book trailer for any of my books, so I thought I’d give it a try. If I’ve done this right, you should be able to see a draft of one here.

Done and fun: photos

Editor and friend Pam Sheppard presenting to Publishers and Writers of San Diego group in August. An excellent explanation of Amazon keywords and how authors can use them.

With writing pal Shakurra Amatulla, nominated for her pilot teleplay “Sepia Frontier”, at Burbank International Film Festival, 28 September.

Award for the worst pic of me ever taken goes to this one from March, where I presented at the Encinitas Library.

That’s all for now. See my author page here. Keep grousing!
