Homework Instructions
The purpose of homework is to combine
facts from textbook and documents
workbook into a brief one page paper.
Homework must be typed, the thesis
posted to the class wiki, and brought
to class by 11:00 a.m. every Monday.
See the Grading page
for rules about missed work.
The format for homework is the
same each week.
- Create a one page mini-essay:
- Type your name, homework number
and unit title at the top
- It must have a thesis (link)
-- (at first your thesis may
be factual, just saying what
the chapter is about, but later
it will become more interpretive)
- use all the key terms
and the titles of all assigned
documents
- put the thesis in bold
- support your thesis with three
body paragraphs, each
emphasizing a particular topic
- highlight, italicize or underline
all key terms and document titles
- Create it in a word-processing
program (save the file!), then
print it out to bring to class
to share. (If you go over one
page, print the second page
on the back, not a separate
page.)
- Post the thesis on the posting
board before class time on Monday
(I have moved to a different
posting board than the one you
got a password for on Monday,
so don't worry about this for
Homework #1)
